(York, PA) Team members from Wagman’s Corporate Office in York were willing to get wet for a good cause – a water bucket challenge benefiting several nonprofit organizations who will be participating in Give Local York 2025.
There were five teams with volunteers from various departments and companies including Wagman Construction, Wagman Heavy Civil, Wagman Geotechnical, Grooving & Grinding, Human Resources, IT, Accounting, Field Service Center, Marketing and owners. Each team selected a designated nonprofit organization and the top four fundraising individuals with the most donations from each group got the lucky seats for the challenge. The top fundraiser/voted individual on each team got the second seat in line – deemed as the one who would get the most wet! The nonprofit organizations included:
- Children’s Aid Society
- For the Love of a Veteran
- New Hope Ministries
- Typical Life Corporation
- York County SPCA
With the goal of the fastest and fullest bucket, the company offered a $500 prize. There were over 260 votes and with the prize money, over $3,000 was raised in total.
“We have a great team and when this idea was proposed, we had more than enough volunteers and a lot of enthusiasm and friendly competition for this ‘fun’draising event. Our friends at Give Local York and many of the recipient nonprofits came out to support us,” commented Lisa Wagman Glezer, President of Wagman, Inc. She adds, “Some of us got very wet, but we definitely had a lot of laughs and made memories while supporting our core value of community!”
