Greg Andricos Receives MdQI’s Pierce J. Flanigan, III Award; Wagman Heavy Civil Recognized with Awards of Excellence at MdQI Banquet

(York, PA) On Wednesday, April 9, the Maryland Quality Initiative (MdQI) hosted the 2025 MdQI Awards Banquet, recognizing innovation, quality and leadership across the transportation industry. The awards are open to engineers and contractors who successfully deliver public sector transportation projects in the state of Maryland.

Greg Andricos, President & COO of Wagman Heavy Civil, received the 2024 Pierce J. Flanigan, III Award. The award is presented to a transportation industry leader who has worked in or for the industry for more than 20 years, making significant contributions by holding a position of leadership or served on industry boards. They also must be involved in the transportation industry in the state of Maryland and been a supporter of the Maryland Quality Initiative. Greg has over 30 years of diverse experience as an engineer, estimator and constructor. He presently oversees the civil, material and geotechnical operations for Wagman. He is a registered professional engineer and an alumnus of the Virginia Military Institute. To promote industry collaboration, Greg serves on the Board of Directors for both the Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association (MTBMA) and the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA), recently serving a two-year term as Chairman for MTBMA.

Additionally, Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. received the following Awards of Excellence: Green / Sustainability / Environmental Award and the Partnering over $10M – Bronze Award for the MD 152 Interchange project.

Located in Harford County, MD, the $196M project for the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA), was a joint venture of Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. and Allan Myers, Inc. The existing MD 152 overpass was reconstructed over I-95 to facilitate widening of the interstate to accommodate two new Express Toll Lanes (ETLs) and four general purpose lanes in each direction. In addition to the full interchange reconstruction, the project also permanently removed the Old Mountain Bridge and existing Park & Ride lot. The partnering team consisted of Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. and Allen Myers, Inc.; the Maryland Transportation Authority and RK&K serving as designer of record.
