A five-phase renovation project is underway to improve pedestrian access and parking at the Mount Joy Amtrak station.
This new train station will feature covered, elevated platforms to replace low-level ones to make boarding trains easier. Access will be improved with the addition of elevators, enclosed stair towers, and a pedestrian overpass between the east and westbound platforms. Work also included adding 42 parking spaces, while improving 112 existing spaces and slope stabilization. All upgrades are meant to enhance the borough’s revitalization plans while keeping pedestrians and travelers safe in the area.
The Wagman Geotechnical Construction Group is working closely with the project to provide temporary support of excavation, foundation micropiles and pipe piles for a permanent shoring wall.
