As one of the older buildings on Diakon’s campus, Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center underwent a series of building renovations and upgrades to the mechanical systems for greater reliability and efficiency.
Renovations occurred throughout the majority of the building and included the lobby, dining room, corridors, bathrooms and 44 resident rooms. Upgrades were made to all electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, security and fire alarm/sprinkler systems.
Key Challenges & Project Details
- Pre-construction and construction services for the renovation of an existing, occupied skilled nursing facility
- Self-performed work includes all millwork, doors, hardware and demolition.
- Wagman’s first priority was keeping renovations as non-intrusive as possible. Wagman met with staff on a weekly basis to discuss the project schedule. Renovations were temporarily stalled during a two month flu outbreak. Wagman modified the project schedule to reflect room and wing availability, and continued to work in unaffected areas in order to minimize delays in the schedule.
